FAQ's

Here are some of our Frequently Asked Questions we get from customers when booking a Lawn Greeting Sign Rental!

When will my Calgary Event Card be set up?

All lawn greeting cards will be set up the night before the event sometime after dark. Usually between 8-Midnight, but times may vary. Displays will be taken down the day of your event in the evening sometime after 8pm. If you need it up longer or would like it left up until a certain time please let us know! Additional days are also available at $25/day.

We may be able to accommodate different set up or take down times depending on day of the week so please just ask. We sometimes are able to accommodate specific time requests. Additional fees may apply.

What is a BIG HEAD Add on?

A Big Head is a giant head photo cut out of your special someone. Adding one of these to your yard greeting is an awesome way to add an extra WOW factor. Cost is $60.00 + GST. They get to keep this after we take down the lawn greeting. We require a photo of the person and 1-2 days to get these printed. Some people love adding a vintage or old picture of the birthday person!

Do you have flamingos or old buzzards?

YES! We have 50 Flamingos! Flock of buzzards coming SUMMER 2024~

How do I pay?

Payment is required upon booking your Calgary Event Card to reserve your date.  We accept e-transfer, credit card (3.4% surcharge) or cash.

Can I cancel?

Yes - plans change! Cancellations are allowed 24 hours before the time of install. If less than 24 hours, no refund will be given. Dates can be changed or a credit can apply to a future booking. No refunds will be given for big head orders, and delivery charges will apply in such circumstance.

Do you accommodate Airdrie, Cochrane, Carstairs or Okotoks?

Yes! We can accommodate out of town setups however additional charges may apply. If travel conditions are bad and prevent us from setting up the card, you will be refunded 100% of your booking.

Where can your letters be installed? Do I need a large front yard?

Our stakes can only be installed on real grass or in soil. Depending on the size of your front yard, we may have to adjust how the card is set up or what it says. Usually we do what we have to do to make it work. For example, if we do not have enough lawn space we may decide to install "Happy B-Day 50th Janice" or set up the card on a diagonal or facing a driveway instead of the street. We cannot instal into artificial turf, mulch or rocks. We do have wooden stands to accommodate homes with these types of front spaces.

Why should I choose Calgary Event Cards?

Can you Install inside or on cement?

Yes! With our new wooden stands we are able to set up a birthday greeting inside or on cement! If you have someone special to celebrate inside a retirement home or in a parking lot party we can help! Wooden stands are an additioanl $25.00. Reach out for more details!

Can you install in extreme weather conditions?

Our signs do not get damaged by rain or snow. If there are bad road conditions, we may not be able to drive to deliver the card in which case we will issue a full refund. If the ground is completely frozen solid, we use a drill to insert the stakes. We try our best to make it look as good in the winter as we do in the summer but of course there are more challenges. We do not guarantee every letter will remain upright. Please let us know if you have underground sprinklers ahead of time however we usually do not drill close to the perimeter of the lawns where sprinklers tend to be.

What about in the winter?

In the winter months we use drills to make holes for the stakes in the frozen ground.
